Tall pines line the bending track through Pembrey Forest in Carmarthenshire, with soft purple shadows crossing pale gravel between young trees and open patches of sunlit scrub.
Pembrey Forest occupies coastal sand dunes in Carmarthenshire, where the Forestry Commission established woodland between 1929 and 1954 to replace timber lost during the World Wars. Today, its paths pass through a mixture of open vegetation and denser conifer stands near the Welsh coast.
The gravel track curves gently between low shrubs before disappearing among distant trees. On the right, tall straight trunks rise from a shaded bank, their crowns catching the light. Younger pines and patches of pink vegetation occupy the more open left side. Dappled shadows stretch across the path beneath pale clouds and a quiet blue sky.
