Mumbles on Swansea Bay extends its slender pier across deep blue water, with red-roofed waterfront buildings, distant white towers and green coastal hills beneath a clear summer sky.
At the western end of Swansea Bay, Mumbles combines a seaside village with rocky shores and a Victorian pleasure pier. The pier opened in 1898. Offshore islands and their lighthouse form another familiar part of this coastal district on the Gower’s eastern edge.
Trestles carry the long walkway across the blue bay towards a broad station building on the right. A smaller white building with a red roof sits nearer the centre. Across the water, green hills descend towards the city and two bright towers. Small ripples catch the light beneath the pier, while warm clouds keep the summer horizon pale.
