Moel yr Ogof in Gwynedd rises beyond a rough stone boundary and golden upland grass, with a dark forested valley beneath the peach-coloured clouds of a late summer evening.
A subsidiary summit of Moel Hebog, this Eryri mountain reaches 655 metres and stands near neighbouring Moel Lefn. Its Welsh name refers to a cave, while brecciated rhyolite records the volcanic origins of the rocky ground within this part of Gwynedd.
Towards Moel yr Ogof, a dry stone wall descends from the nearest left corner across tawny grass. A broken rocky ridge rises beyond it, with dark woodland filling the deeper valley on the right. Successive blue and purple hills fade into the distance. Peach and gold cloud warms the skyline, suggesting a late summer evening above the shaded slopes.
