Beskrivning
Mappleton on Yorkshire’s Holderness coast stands above a long sandy beach, where low village buildings and grass-topped cliffs reveal a settlement shaped by the North Sea.
The Holderness village of Mappleton lies on the North Sea coast, about three miles south of Hornsea in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Its parish church is dedicated to All Saints and is Grade II* listed, giving the coastal settlement a recognised historic landmark.
Brown cliffs fall sharply from green turf towards an empty golden beach. The shoreline narrows into the distance, traced by white surf against turquoise sea. A square church tower and pale cottages sit on the high ground at the right. Strong sunlight casts deep shadows beneath the broken cliff edges, while cream clouds gather above a bright, apparently summery coast.
