Beskrivning
Lunan Bay opens along the Angus coast south of Montrose, where broad sands, a winding river mouth and the red stone ruins of a castle meet the North Sea.
Backed by dunes and enclosed by low cliffs, the east facing beach extends from Boddin Point towards Ethie Haven. Red Castle occupies elevated ground overlooking the shore, with surviving portions of a rectangular tower and curtain wall recalling the bay's medieval history.
Lunan Bay spreads beyond the castle ruins in this elevated scene. A blue channel snakes across pale sand towards the sea, while broken reddish walls cast long shadows on green grass. White houses sit among trees below the right slope, and a small vessel appears offshore. Strong sunlight and lush banks suggest summer beside the wide, calm blue bay.
