Beskrivning
Lochaline in Highland Morvern gathers white cottages above a sheltered blue inlet, with leafy shore shrubs and dark woodland beneath a rounded green hill in soft summer sunshine.
Lochaline occupies the mouth of Loch Aline on the Morvern peninsula, overlooking the Sound of Mull. A ferry crosses from here to Fishnish on Mull. The village is also associated with deposits of high quality silica sand, mined from beneath the surrounding ground since the twentieth century.
A white house with a dark roof and small red annex stands above the water at the centre. Higher on the slope, a long row of pale cottages sits against mixed woodland and a darker conifer belt. Leafy shrubs cover the rocky near bank. Rounded green slopes and soft cream clouds give the sheltered inlet the light of a mild summer day.
