Beskrivning
Hole follows a rocky river through dense woodland, where evergreen branches and pale stones create a cool, sheltered mood The stream bends into woodland.
The stream winds between rounded stones from the lower foreground towards a bend in the trees. Pale rocks line the right bank, while broadleaf trees fill the left and tall conifers rise along the right edge. Blue hills appear beyond the canopy beneath a clouded sky. Reflections break across the water where shallow runs pass over the riverbed.
The view of Hole stays close to the stream, using the banks to lead into the wooded distance. The conifers give the right side a strong vertical edge, while the lighter trees open a gap towards the hills. For anyone who knows this Angus place, the stones and narrow flow make the river the scene’s clearest point of recognition.
