Beskrivning
Happisburgh in Norfolk sets a striped lighthouse above a curving sandy shore, with gold-lit cliffs and foaming waves beneath an orange sky as evening settles over the coast.
The lighthouse and its keepers' cottages date from 1791. Originally paired with a lower light to guide vessels past offshore sands, the surviving tower later passed from Trinity House to an independent trust, preserving a conspicuous landmark above Norfolk's eroding coastal cliffs.
Red and white bands climb the lighthouse at Happisburgh, beside low cream cottages and dark hedges. Below the green fields, orange cliffs curve along a broad beach. White surf zigzags towards the foreground, reflecting the gold and mauve of the sky. Tall coastal grasses edge the near slope, suggesting a warm evening late in summer.
