Beskrivning
Glen Sligachan on Highland Skye follows a boulder strewn river below steep mountain faces, with pale stony banks and low heather giving the open summer glen a quiet, spacious character.
Glen Sligachan separates Skye’s Black Cuillin from the smoother Red Cuillin hills. The valley runs south from Sligachan towards the mountain interior, providing a walking route towards Camasunary. Its rivers and open moorland lie below some of the island’s most prominent peaks, close to the head of Loch Sligachan.
A shallow blue grey stream passes scattered dark boulders, leaving broad pale strips along its banks. Low green shrubs and muted pink heather occupy the near left slope. Across the open floor, a steep rocky mountain wall carries sharp gullies and diagonal shadows. Thin clouds pass above the high ridge, while bare summits and warm lower grass suggest a dry day in summer.
