Flowers and Birds of the Four Seasons - Ikeda Koson

Ikeda Koson was a prominent pupil of Suzuki Kiitsu and a significant figure within the Rinpa school during the late Edo period. This diptych, titled Flowers and Birds of the Four Seasons, demonstrates the characteristic attention to seasonal transitions and natural observation inherent in the Kacho-ga tradition. The artist employs a delicate brush technique to capture the specific textures of flora and the subtle movements of avian subjects.
