Beskrivning
Dale of Walls in Shetland reveals pale shingle beside turquoise pools, with grassy headlands, scattered shore boulders and a grey rocky point beneath the softly lit clouds of summer.
On Shetland's exposed western side, this pebble beach receives the full force of Atlantic weather. Storms pile shingle high above the shore, while a burn and summer wildflowers soften the surrounding ground; walking routes continue towards Deep Dale and Sandness Hill.
At Dale of Walls, a broad pale shingle shore curves between bright blue water and two quieter turquoise pools. A rounded green headland closes the bay on the right, ending in grey rock. Large stones interrupt the nearest grass. A very fine boundary line follows the distant crest, and white cloud with gentle shadows suggests a mild summer afternoon.
