Beskrivning
Crieff in Perthshire gathers pale roofs below green Strathearn hills, with a spreading foreground tree and distant blue ridges beneath bright cloud towers on a sunny summer afternoon.
Crieff stands in Strathearn, where Highland routes meet the lower agricultural country. Its cattle markets drew drovers from across the north, bringing Highland herds south for sale. The town’s importance in that trade declined as English buyers increasingly required cattle to be brought farther south to Falkirk.
Pale houses with grey and red roofs gather below a spreading leafy tree. Green fields rise behind the town in broad sunlit curves, divided by dark woodland strips. Blue ridges overlap along the far horizon, with a slender distant tower between them. Tall clouds and fully green canopies suggest a bright summer afternoon above the sloping roofs.
