Beskrivning
Crickhowell sits above a broad sweep of the River Usk, with a long stone bridge, wooded banks and pale hillside houses opening towards the green uplands of Powys beyond.
Repeated arches cast dark shapes beneath the bridge deck, their piers reflected in the smooth blue channel. Pink flower spikes stand above the nearest shrubs. Higher up, small cream facades and grey roofs emerge between rounded trees, with successive ridgelines fading from green to lilac across the distance.
The Usk valley gives Crickhowell its riverside setting, joining the town's settled slopes to a much wider stretch of open country. Here the bridge spans most of the visible water, linking the two leafy banks. Broad bands of cloud leave a clear patch of blue above the houses, while the reflections hold the lower part of the view in shade.
