Beskrivning
Creag a' Lain on Highland Skye reveals sheer cliff steps above golden slopes, with long shadows descending towards distant blue sea and islands in the clear light of autumn.
The Trotternish escarpment runs through northern Skye, where steep rock faces contrast with the gentler ground above. Basalt lava layers overlie softer sedimentary rocks, contributing to the peninsula’s large landslips. Along this ridge, viewpoints look south towards Sgurr a’ Mhadaidh Ruaidh and Baca Ruadh.
At Creag a' Lain, dark near vertical crags rise in broad steps from steep grassy slopes. The upper ground is lit ochre and rust, while long blue green shadows descend into the hollow on the left. A pale blue sea and low islands appear beyond the ridge. Cream clouds cross the turquoise sky, with the warm dry vegetation suggesting an autumn afternoon.
