Concert of Angels is a work by the Cretan-born painter Domenikos Theotokopoulos, known as El Greco. This painting, executed during his final years in Toledo, displays the elongated figures and expressive brushwork characteristic of his late period. The composition depicts a celestial gathering of musical figures, their forms merging with the atmospheric, cloud-like space that surrounds them.

El Greco employs a palette dominated by deep ochres, muted greens, and crimson tones. The light appears to emanate from within the figures themselves rather than from an external source, a technique that creates a sense of spiritual intensity. The figures are arranged in a semi-circular formation, focusing on the act of music-making. One figure holds a harp, another plays a flute, and a third is positioned with a cello, while others attend to a musical score. The drapery of their garments is rendered with fluid, rapid strokes, suggesting movement and ethereal weightlessness.

This work reflects the artist's departure from the strict naturalism of the Renaissance. Instead, he prioritises emotional and spiritual expression through distorted anatomy and unconventional spatial depth. The figures lack a clear ground plane, appearing to float within a nebulous, divine environment.
