Beskrivning
Charing lies below Kent's North Downs among fields and tree belts, where a church tower and red roofs emerge beyond the broad grassy slopes of an elevated village view.
At the foot of the North Downs escarpment in Kent, Charing retains a historic centre of medieval buildings. Its conservation area includes the High Street, village green and former Archbishop's Palace, with many timber-framed houses concealed behind later fronts along the street.
From a sunlit grassy slope, the scene looks across green fields towards a compact village. A square church tower stands left of the central roofs, with hedges and wooded strips dividing the surrounding farmland. Cream clouds drift across blue above distant low ridges. Full leaves and warm yellow-green pasture suggest summer, emphasising the village's position between open fields and the rising downs.
