Beskrivning
Beinn Edra on Skye, Highland, opens between towering grey rock walls towards green uplands and distant sea, with a small blue lochan bringing colour to the dramatic island outlook.
The highest point on the northern half of Skye's Trotternish Ridge reaches 611 metres. This escarpment runs through the island's northern peninsula, where grassy upper ground and steep cliff edges create a distinctive contrast between the skyline and the country below.
From Beinn Edra, two near cliff faces frame a narrow gap. Broken grey columns descend into deep shadow, while sunlit grass covers the ledges above. Beyond, a small blue pool sits among smooth green folds, leading towards distant flat topped heights and a straight sea horizon. Cream clouds brighten the sky. The full green ground and snow free ridges suggest clear summer conditions across northern Skye.
