Beskrivning
Beinn Bharrain and Mullach Buidhe rise across Arran's North Ayrshire uplands in warm purple ridges, with heather, pale boulders and a dark loch revealing the island's quieter western mountains.
In north-west Arran, Beinn Bharrain names an entire mountain whose highest summit is Mullach Buidhe at 721 metres. Less frequently visited than the island's eastern hills, it offers a quieter upland setting within North Ayrshire, with broad views from its highest ground.
Here Beinn Bharrain and Mullach Buidhe appear as warm mauve and ochre ridges beyond a dark blue loch. Pale boulders interrupt heather in the near slope, while deeper gullies cast cool shadows across the mountains. Cream clouds leave clear blue above the skyline. Purple flowering ground cover suggests late summer, and the open treeless setting makes the folds of each ridge easy to follow.
