Beskrivning
Alnwick Castle in Northumberland rises above green parkland, its battlemented towers and enclosing walls marking a historic Percy family seat among trees beside the roofs of the neighbouring town.
The Percy family purchased Alnwick Castle in 1309, beginning an association with this Northumberland stronghold that has lasted more than seven centuries. Earlier Norman origins underlie the castle's history, while successive generations shaped it as an important northern family seat.
Pale towers and crenellated walls fill the centre of the view, their varied heights standing against tightly packed town roofs. Broad green lawns separate the castle from dense trees on the near slope. A wooden fence crosses the foreground above white and pink flowers. Full leaves suggest summer, with gentle clear light warming the stone beneath soft cream clouds.
