Beskrivning
A' Mhaighdean in the northwestern Highlands presents rugged grey crags above golden green slopes and deep blue water, a remote mountain scene framed by large sunlit boulders.
Deep within Wester Ross's Fisherfield Forest, this 967 metre Munro is celebrated for its remoteness. Approaches involve a long journey through mountain country, commonly from Poolewe via Kernsary, placing the summit well beyond the surrounding settlements and public roads.
A' Mhaighdean rises beside an enclosed hollow, its broken rock faces catching pale light above smooth grassy fans. Dark blue water occupies the right side beneath a shadowed ridge. Angular boulders fill the near slope, and a low gap leads the eye between the heights. Golden grass and snow free crags suggest late summer under a turquoise sky with cream clouds.
