Beschrijving
Wittering is defined by a stone church and its slender spire, rising above the surrounding churchyard in a peaceful village scene, with open sky above.
The spire climbs into a cloud-filled sky above the nave and lower roofs. Gravestones punctuate the green lawn, while a large tree shades the right side and branches stretch across the top. Small houses sit beyond the churchyard wall.
The church remains the tallest feature in this view of Wittering, visible above both trees and nearby roofs. For residents and visitors, the churchyard setting offers a familiar approach, with the spire guiding the eye across the village green. The surrounding details keep the view tied to the particular place. The broad view leaves each main feature easy to see against its setting.
