Beschrijving
Open turquoise water frames the Shiant Islands in Eilean Siar, their low rocky silhouettes stretching beneath tall white clouds and bright blue sky in a spacious view from the Minch.
The Shiant Islands form a rocky archipelago in the Minch, off Scotland’s Outer Hebrides. Seen from sea level, the group appears as a succession of separate low outlines. Open water surrounds the islands, emphasising their position within this broad sea passage.
A wide central island rises above its smaller neighbours, with patches of green catching the light along the ridge. Shorter rock shapes continue towards either side of the horizon. Turquoise bands spread across the foreground water, broken by pale reflections. Above the low land, large cream clouds and thin white streaks fill a clear blue sky.
