Beschrijving
Pistyll Rhaeadr in Powys sends white cascades down a wooded rock face, with green summer foliage enclosing the falls and a foaming stream tumbling over dark boulders below.
High in the Berwyn Mountains near Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, this waterfall belongs to a secluded valley on the northeastern side of Powys. Traditionally counted among the Seven Wonders of Wales, it is a longstanding destination for visitors exploring the surrounding upland countryside.
At Pistyll Rhaeadr, slender upper streams spread over grey ledges before dropping through a deep cleft. The falling water gathers in pale foam, then continues between rocks towards the foreground. Broadleaf trees crowd both sides of the gorge, their green canopies contrasting with exposed stone. Bright cloud above the treetops gives the scene a fresh, sunlit summer atmosphere.
