Beschrijving
The sloping high street in Oxted, Surrey leads between brick buildings towards green Surrey hills, giving the town a welcoming, everyday character in this illustrated view in this illustrated view.
The road descends through a close row of shops and houses, their tiled roofs and pale façades catching soft daylight. A leafy tree partly frames the right side, while low hills appear beyond the rooftops. The street bends slightly as it moves into the distance. Pavement, shopfronts and road markings make the town centre easy to place.
Oxted, Surrey is shown through its high street, with the surrounding hills visible beyond the buildings. The perspective follows the road downhill and gives the compact centre a clear sense of direction. For local residents and returning visitors, the mix of familiar shopfronts and green distance connects the everyday town to the countryside around it.
