Beschrijving
Newent gathers around its timber-framed market house, raised on oak posts above a quiet street with bunting, red geraniums and black bollards in sunshine.
The upper floor is cream plaster set between dark beams, with carved gable trim and a red tiled roof. Steps rise beneath it, and two stone blocks sit near the posts. A cream house with blue-grey windows stands to the right, while a flag line of red, white and blue strings across the sky.
Newent is a small Gloucestershire market town, and an open-sided market house of this kind is typical of its past as a place for trade. It suits those who grew up here, visit the Saturday market or enjoy a town centre that looks lived in and cared for.
