Beschrijving
Haslemere’s old street climbs past timbered shopfronts, offering a warm view of the Surrey town beneath leafy hills in this illustrated view in this illustrated view.
The road rises between close-set buildings with steep tiled roofs and upper-storey gables. A tree-covered slope fills the background, while greenery softens the roofline on the right. The pavement and street lead uphill towards the centre of the view. Warm light falls across the façades, bringing out the contrast between brick, timber and pale walls.
Haslemere’s town centre is shaped by its rising streets and older buildings. The view follows the road uphill, with the clustered roofs giving way to trees beyond. For residents and returning visitors, these shopfronts and familiar slopes can mark the transition from the town’s busy centre to the wooded ground around it.
