Beschrijving
Cross Fell follows a pale path across open moorland, where a low sun and long shadows create a quiet evening mood, beneath a wide, clear sky.
The footpath begins at the lower edge and narrows as it crosses the russet and gold grasses. Low hills stretch across the middle distance beneath bands of pink cloud, with the sun near the horizon. Darker slopes frame the far edge of the moor, and no buildings or people interrupt the broad view.
The open ground gives Cross Fell a sense of distance, while the path offers a clear line through the grasses. Its changing colours suggest the light is low, with the brightest area gathered around the sun and cloud banks. For someone who has crossed this upland, the winding track can bring back the measured pace of a walk over exposed moor.
