Beschrijving
Cottingham’s church tower rises above the stone bridge, giving this village street view a strong historic centre, leaving the view open, calm and easy to remember.
The church’s tall square tower and pointed nave occupy the left side, partly screened by trees. A low stone bridge crosses a narrow stream in the foreground, with a road leading towards the buildings. Sunlit clouds hang above the village, while shrubs grow along the water’s edge.
Cottingham is a village in the East Riding of Yorkshire, and its church and old crossing give the view a distinct local focus. The bridge brings the stream into the foreground, while the tower rises above the roofs behind it. Residents and visitors who have crossed through the village may recognise how these older structures sit close to the everyday road.
