Beschrijving
Cantick Head Lighthouse stands above the open sea, its white tower and red band set against a wide sky for a clear, windswept coastal view.
The lighthouse sits on a green ridge above dark rock, with a small white building beside it. Across the water, a long low headland runs beneath soft blue hills. Pale surf picks out the edge of the nearer shore, while large clouds gather high above the horizon. The foreground slope leads down towards the sea.
At Cantick Head, the lighthouse marks the edge of the Orkney coast, where land falls away to open water. The view gives the tower a small place in a broad stretch of sky and sea. Its white walls remain easy to pick out against the green ridge and dark rock.
