Beschrijving
Brechin rises above the South Esk in Angus, a historic cathedral town set among rich farmland where church towers and clustered roofs stand against the lower slopes of the Highlands.
The South Esk borders the town's southern side, placing it within the river country of eastern Angus. Its cathedral preserves medieval fabric and stands beside a rare Irish style round tower, dating to around 1100 and one of only two surviving Scottish examples.
Brechin is viewed beyond a golden field whose parallel rows lead towards a wide belt of trees. Pale town buildings gather around a slender central spire, with roofs of grey and muted red. Patchwork farmland continues towards broad blue hills. Full foliage, ripe field colour and bright cloud light suggest the harvest season at the end of summer.
