Beschrijving
Balnakeil near Durness in Highland sweeps around turquoise surf and pale dunes, with dark shore rocks and tall foreground grasses giving the wide northern beach a fresh coastal rhythm.
Northwest of Durness on Scotland's far northern coast, the beach forms a long curve of white sand backed by substantial dunes. It occupies the western side of the narrow ground leading towards Faraid Head, linking the bay with the exposed headland beyond.
The Balnakeil shoreline recedes towards a small pale building beneath distant blue hills. Fine white breakers curl across turquoise water, meeting smooth golden sand and scattered dark rocks. Grassy dunes fill the left foreground, their pointed blades catching light above shaded roots. Fresh green vegetation and high cream clouds suggest a breezy summer afternoon, with the empty beach opening broadly towards the sea.
