Beschreibung
Skipper's Island on the Essex coast brings turquoise curves and sandy margins into a spacious summer view, where a distant brick house provides a small warm focal point.
Within Hamford Water in north-east Essex, Skipper's Island is one of the area’s main islands and is managed for wildlife by Essex Wildlife Trust. The surrounding Walton Backwaters form an estuarine landscape of sheltered water and low marsh, distinct from the open coast nearby.
Turquoise channels curve around flat green marsh patches, their pale sandy edges tracing each bend. A low brick house stands on a distant strip of land among rounded trees, with twin chimneys breaking the horizon. Fine grass blades enter at the lower left. Full foliage and high white clouds suggest a bright summer day, with almost still water reflecting the light sky.
