Meall Ghaordaidh in Stirling rises in dark rocky buttresses above a gold green glen, with a pale cottage and rust heather beneath snowy distant ridges in clear spring afternoon sunshine.
This 1039 metre Munro stands between Glen Lochay and Glen Lyon. Its northern side has two prominent buttresses, contrasting with the rounded slopes encountered on the usual southern approach. Another ascent crosses the River Lyon before climbing through Coire Loaghain towards the upper mountain.
Meall Ghaordaidh rises beyond a broad gold green glen in dark rocky tiers. A pale cottage with twin chimneys stands near a thin line of trees below the left buttress. Rust and purple heather cover the near uneven ground, with small fresh green patches between them. Snow remains on the distant ridge beneath a clear spring afternoon sky.
