Watendlath’s blue water sits below a broken grey skyline, its shore edged by low walls and pale-roofed buildings among the golden fields of Cumbria’s high country.
The hamlet of Watendlath lies beside a tarn in Cumbria, surrounded by enclosed farmland. From the higher ground, the water and clustered buildings can be seen within a basin of rising slopes, with rougher fells extending beyond the field boundaries.
Olive and gold fields spread around smooth blue water. Dark stone lines bend across the pasture, interrupted by rounded trees. Pale roofs gather on the right, below a row of slender trunks on the far hillside. Large angular stones cross the lower edge, their sunlit faces set against deep grassy shadows under high cream clouds.
