Beskrivning
River Parrett in Somerset winds through the low-lying Levels towards Bridgwater Bay, with broad tidal bends and pale mud banks seen here among green fields, flooded patches and small settlements.
Flowing north-west through the Somerset Levels, River Parrett reaches the Bristol Channel at Bridgwater Bay near Burnham-on-Sea. The river and its tributaries drain a large part of the county, linking inland lowland fields with the changing tides of its coastal estuary.
An elevated view follows a wide silver-blue bend around a grid of dark green fields. Pale exposed banks border the channel, and rectangular pools reflect the sky among the enclosures. Small groups of red-roofed houses sit beside the river. Green hedges suggest a growing-season landscape, while cool daylight and broad cream clouds soften the distant blue hills.
