Beskrivning
Dudley Priory opens across a sunlit lawn, with broken stone arches, a broad leafy tree and long shadows giving the surviving walls their place within the green park.
A tall arched opening stands at the left of the ruins, followed by a run of uneven masonry. The central tree spreads its crown above the surviving wall tops. Dark shrubs frame the lower edge, while narrow strips of shade stretch across the bright grass.
Dudley Priory is seen here as a group of roofless remains within open grounds, as in the retained photograph. The view keeps the stonework close enough for its openings and irregular edges to matter. Beyond the lawn, distant buildings and low hills place the old ruins within the wider town and its surrounding country.
