Beskrivning
Chalkwell follows a sweep of golden sand beside the Thames Estuary, where timber groynes, a green navigation marker and a distant waterfront meet quiet blue water beneath bright summer clouds.
Small wavelets draw narrow white arcs across the wet shore. Sunlight forms a broad silver streak on the left, while evenly spaced wooden posts run out from the right. Low cream facades and green tree crowns follow the promenade into the distance beneath a level horizon.
Along this stretch of the Southend-on-Sea seafront, Chalkwell faces the open estuary across a broad beach. The curve of the shore links the near sand with the smaller waterfront buildings farther away. Timber sea defences and the navigation marker give the open water a local scale, with plenty of clear sky above the meeting of town and tide.
