Blakeney Point in Norfolk spreads beyond a winding blue creek, with green saltmarsh, reddish coastal plants and a low line of pale dunes separating the shore from open sea.
This four-mile ridge of shingle and dunes is backed by saltmarsh and mudflats on the North Norfolk coast. Part of a National Trust nature reserve, it is known for winter seals and summer terns, with tidal channels dividing its low coastal habitats.
At Blakeney Point, a blue creek bends between flat green marsh banks and exposed brown mud. Thick grasses and red-tipped plants fill the foreground, while low sandy dunes lie across the horizon. Beyond them, a narrow strip of sea meets the sky. Large white clouds drift over this open landscape in light suggestive of late summer.
