Beskrivning
Atherstone in north Warwickshire is an old market town with St Mary's at its heart, while this waterside scene follows quiet reflections towards brick buildings and a distant spire.
Atherstone is a market town in northern Warwickshire, with St Mary's parish church standing on the north side of its central Market Square. The church remains a focal point of the town, linking its religious heritage with the historic commercial centre.
The scene looks over calm blue green water towards a low brick arch and lock gates. A tall warm brick building stands beside the bank, its windows and chimney reflected below. Beyond trees and tiled roofs, a narrow stone spire rises into the sky. Reeds and floating leaves soften the foreground, and yellow green foliage suggests summer touched by the warm light of late afternoon.
