Benjamin Wolff
Benjamin Wolff was a Dutch artist who spent much of his career in Berlin. He was a portrait painter but also held a technical role as an inspector of the Royal Picture Gallery. This position allowed him to study the techniques of old masters at a level of detail few other artists could access. He often used these observations to inform his own chalk drawings and oil paintings. He was born in Cassel but established his reputation through his meticulous work in the Prussian capital.
