Beschrijving
Ballantrae in South Ayrshire sits beyond pale shore sands and blue tidal pools, with white cottages and a pointed church tower below green coastal hills on a bright summer afternoon.
Ballantrae stands at the mouth of the River Stinchar on South Ayrshire’s coast. The river drains the inland valley through Barr, Pinwherry and Colmonell before reaching the sea here. The village’s position connects a long agricultural river corridor with the open coastal waters facing Ailsa Craig.
White cottages and a pointed church tower line the far shore below a green headland. Blue tidal pools curve between pale sands and dark seaweed covered shelves. Large grey rocks fill the near margin, beyond which the water widens into a calm blue strip. Tall bright clouds and green coastal grass suggest mild summer afternoon weather beside the village.
