Beschrijving
Anstruther in Fife's East Neuk gathers pastel waterfront houses around blue harbour water, where close moored boats and their reflections give the coastal town a distinctly maritime character.
The largest of the East Neuk's traditional fishing settlements, Anstruther has a long association with the sea. Its harbour supports small working vessels and leisure craft, while the Scottish Fisheries Museum occupies historic buildings beside the waterfront and records the industry's wider national history.
Blue, white and yellow boats crowd a pontoon in the foreground. Beyond their ropes and cabins, still water reflects a row of cream, pink and honey coloured houses. Red tiled roofs alternate with slate, and a few dark trees rise behind the waterfront. Clear blue sky and bright cloud bands suggest a settled summer afternoon, bringing small reflected ripples into view.
