He utilised foreshortening and muscular anatomy to convey physical weight and movement within the two-dimensional space. The palette is dominated by the warm, golden tones of the sun and the contrasting cool blues of the sky, set against the heavy, voluminous drapery of the divine figures. The surrounding architectural framing, painted in trompe l'oeil, provides a sense of structure to the otherwise fluid and energetic central narrative.\n\nMichelangelo completed this section during the final phase of his work on the ceiling.
